Fuel Stations

Our range of Fuel Stations are ideal for diesel storage.

Now might be a good time for your business to buy a fuel station, and store the fuel that your business needs to keep things moving.

Owning your own diesel tank is often a prudent decision to save time, reduce costs, improve the efficiency of operations. The potential benefits of owning a storage tank depend upon the type of industry you are in, but for some businesses, it’s a necessity to keep your fleet moving when others may come to a halt.

At Tanks2U we stock a range of fuel stations and tanks, with fitted pumps and a range of additional security accessories to protect your investment.

Above-Ground Diesel Fuel Storage Tanks (ASTs)

Advantages Of Above Ground Fuel Stations:

  • These tanks are easy to install and relocate
  • They are simple to inspect, clean, and maintain
  • These tanks offer a much lower initial cost than an underground tank

Setup Requirements of a Fuel Station:

  1. Base/Foundation
    • Concrete pad or steel support
    • Must be level and stable
  2. Bunding/Spill Containment
    • Capacity: 110% of the largest tank or 25% of total (if multiple)
  3. Ventilation
    • Emergency vent for pressure release
  4. Security
    • Lockable caps and access control
    • Fencing or bollards (for commercial/fuel station use)
  5. Signage
    • “Diesel Fuel,” flammable warnings, hazard placards

Safety and Compliance of a Fuel Station:

  • Fire distance clearance: Typically 3–6 meters from buildings or ignition sources (local codes vary)
  • Grounding/Earthing: This prevents static discharge during refuelling
  • Inspection frequency: Monthly checks, annual professional inspections
  • Fire extinguishers: Foam or dry chemical, nearby and easily accessible
